Michele Roussel Buckley: Building a Better Future Together

IMG_6355.jpeg

Community, compassion, and connection have always been at the heart of my work.

My name is Michele Roussel Buckley—a community organizer, advocate, a retired small business owner, and the founder of Gate City Voices, a grassroots movement focused on bringing people together through civic engagement, compassion, and action. Over the years, I’ve worked to create spaces where people feel heard, respected, and connected, whether through community rallies, mutual aid efforts, or open public conversations.

As a retired small business owner, I understand firsthand the challenges that local entrepreneurs and working families face. Balancing responsibilities, making ends meet, and supporting others has shaped my commitment to building a stronger, more supportive local economy.

I’m also a single mother, and that experience has deeply influenced who I am and the work I do. Navigating the challenges of raising a family has strengthened my voice as an advocate for women, children, and survivors of domestic violence, issues that I believe deserve more attention, understanding, and action.

I believe real change happens when we come together, not in opposition, but with a shared purpose. My goal has always been to foster respectful, peaceful engagement while standing firmly for justice, equity, and the well-being of our entire community.

I’m running for State Representative in Historic and Scenic Ward 3 in Nashua because  I’m committed to making sure everyday people are heard, supported, and truly represented.

The Heart of Ward 3

Community organizing is really at the heart of what makes Ward 3 such a strong, historic, and scenic place to live. Michele Roussel Buckley has spent years bringing people together, working where civic engagement and local advocacy meet, making sure people feel heard and that efforts are built on real trust. Whether it’s grassroots organizing or shaping thoughtful policy, the focus is on working together to move Nashua forward.

01

Women, Children, and Survivors,

Supporting women, children, and survivors is a core priority for me. That means making sure people have access to safe housing, reliable childcare, and the kind of community support that helps families stay stable and secure. It also means advocating for resources that protect survivors of domestic violence and abuse, and working to ensure they’re treated with dignity, compassion, and real options for rebuilding their lives.

I believe in strengthening partnerships with local organizations, expanding access to mental health services, and making sure no one falls through the cracks when they need help the most. When we invest in the safety and well-being of women and children, we’re investing in a stronger, healthier community for everyone.

Key Campaign Initiatives

Building a better future for Ward 3 through targeted advocacy and active civic engagement.

02

Education & Youth

Supporting education and investing in our young people is essential to the future of our community. I believe every child deserves access to strong schools, supportive environments, and opportunities that help them grow and succeed, both in and out of the classroom.

That means advocating for well-resourced public schools, expanding access to after-school and enrichment programs, and creating safe spaces where young people feel supported and inspired. It also means listening to students and families, and making sure their needs are reflected in the decisions we make.

By investing in education and youth today, we’re building a stronger, more connected community for tomorrow.

03

Neighborhood Strength & Local Opportunity

I believe a strong Ward 3 starts with strong neighborhoods. That means safe, walkable streets, well-maintained public spaces, and a local economy that works for the people who live here.

I’m committed to supporting small businesses, investing in infrastructure, and making sure our neighborhoods are clean, accessible, and welcoming for everyone. It also means listening to residents about what they need most, whether that’s traffic safety, housing stability, or community spaces where people can connect.

When we take care of our neighborhoods and support local opportunity, we create a Ward 3 where people want to live, work, and stay.
