Never Imagined

I never imagined I’d be part of a movement to save democracy! I want to share something so personal and important. I’m a proud American, a mother, a grandmother, and a woman raised in a family that values service and integrity.

My father served proudly in the military for most of his life. My uncles and cousins wore the uniforms of the Navy, Marines, and Army. And my grandfather, he served in the Navy and later became Acting Chief of Police right here in Nashua.

I grew up standing up for the flag and the national anthem, even in my living room before football games. My kids thought I was a little over the top, but I wanted to pass on the values of respect, responsibility, and love of country.

Those values are still in me today and they’re why I’m running for State Representative now. Because I believe that love of country also means caring deeply when we see things going wrong. And wanting to make them right.

It’s painful to see moments where justice feels out of reach, or where power is misused. But I want to be clear: I do not believe all officials or officers are corrupt. In fact, I believe the vast majority of those who wear the badge or carry a title do so with honor, courage, and a deep commitment to doing the right thing.

I think of the stories of my grandfather, walking the streets of Nashua, knowing neighbors by name, earning trust not by fear, but by fairness. His legacy reminds me that law enforcement can and often does, reflect the best of who we are when grounded in community, compassion, and accountability. If you’d like to hear more about the man he was, there are some beautiful stories about him shared on social media by those who knew and loved him.

My goal is not to attack but to ask for better. To raise our voices peacefully, with strength and unity. Because when systems fall short, it’s our right and our responsibility to call for change. But we do it with love, with dignity, and with peace in our hearts.

This movement, this moment, it’s not about left or right. It’s about right and wrong. It’s about creating a country where families aren’t torn apart, where public servants are held to the highest standards, and where communities feel safe because they are heard, respected, and protected.

To the officers and officials who serve with integrity: We see you. We thank you. And we ask you to stand with us. To speak up when something’s not right. Because silence allows injustice to grow but unity can bring healing.

Let’s keep showing up not with anger, but with courage. Let’s lead with hope, not hate. Let’s prove that a peaceful community gathering is a powerful. And that love of country means always striving for a more just and compassionate future.
